1） Earlier this year, we shared a few teaser images for a new product at our Discord and Instagram page. However, due to multiple rounds of prototyping and the development of other projects, its release has been delayed until now.
2）This is the very first product in our brand-new “NoryTek Collection.” From the beginning, our goal for this series has been to create a design that seamlessly blends retro aesthetics with modern technology. Following extensive design iterations and testing across various layout configurations, we have finalized a design that feels complete and balanced.

3) Those familiar with our previous product releases are probably thinking: “Really? Another one? Still 70%, and isolated spacebar design?” And yes — you guessed it. The very first model in our new series is yet again a 70% layout, continuing our signature isolated spacebar foundation.
We believe the 70% layout strikes the ideal balance — it maintains full functionality while adapting easily to a wide variety of design styles. It can appear clean and compact like smaller layouts, yet still carry the essence and feeling of larger layouts,striking a perfect balance in the right in the middle. That’s why we’ve always had a particular fondness for this particular layout.
Next, we’ll walk you through the design concept and details behind “NoryTek 70 & Isolated Space”, highlighting what makes this keyboard stand out.


1. Appearance
· In this design, we’ve continued our signature isolated spacebar, while introducing a few new changes — most notably, we lowered the right section that includes both the arrow keys and top navigation key clusters ever so slightly. This continues our tradition of asymmetrical layout design, using a staggered structure to create a sense of rhythm that breaks away from rigid uniformity, creating a look that feels carefully balanced even if it appears a bit unconventional at first glance.
· The area above the arrow and other navigation keys features a raised design, but instead of being made from separate pieces, the raised section is integrated directly into the top case. While this means we lose some of the visual freshness that comes from contrasting colors, it gives the keyboard a stronger sense of unity. The consistent look and feel also help prevent the fatigue that can come from long-term use of a single bold color.
Although this approach increases manufacturing complexity and lowers production yield, we chose it because, as a tool, the user experience takes priority — the keyboard should feel solid, seamless, and comfortable to use every day.

· As mentioned before, since the entire right section is lowered, we also considered how people use the keyboard and the visual balance of the overall design. To make the layout feel more interesting and less plain, we added a diagonal cut between the spacebar and the arrow keys.
After numerous rounds of software simulations and physical prototypes, we confirmed that this adjustment does not affect usability in any way—it simply makes the design feel more complete and visually engaging.

· Moving to the badge area, we divided it into left and right sections.
Left side: A dot-matrix light badge made up of 2×5 small rectangular blocks. The lights not only serve as decorative accents but can also interact with the screen on the right to simulate data transfer and other effects.
Right side: A 160×40px screen. We’ve designed a set of UI elements and functions for the screen that will be updated when the keyboard ships. We’ll also provide some custom animations for users to swap in freely. Of course, we’re even more excited to see everyone create their own animations and share them with the community.
·The badge and small grid weights use a grid design. This design element can be applied in many ways: it helps refine the overall structural framework, improves precision, and maintains visual consistency. Typically, using lines to divide a surface into a grid is also convenient for manufacturing.
However, to keep the design from feeling too plain while also complementing the badge, lighting, and screen, we opted for a waffle-pattern block design. Space was extremely limited, so each square measures only 1×1×0.5mm, making the already tiny rounded corners particularly challenging to machine.

Keyboard Notes:
1.Due to the isolated spacebar design, the WK and WKL hot-swappable layouts are not fully compatible. Forcing compatibility would require the Ctrl and Alt keys to be mounted upside down in order to function properly. To address this, we have separated the PCB into two versions: one compatible only with WK layouts, and one compatible only with WKL layouts (as shown below). Users will receive the corresponding PCB for their chosen layout, ensuring everything works correctly.

2.The USB port uses a 4-pin aviation connector (0B). Each keyboard comes with a 1.5m soft silver-plated cable.
3.The 1.5mm aluminum plate comes standard with a black gloss finish.

4.The CD-pattern screws on the bottom are available in silver or black, giving users more options for customization and personal styling.

3. Keyboard Weight Material:

· It will come standard with a transparent acrylic diffuser plate, and we will also provide the transparent acrylic plate design files so users can cut their own versions from different materials for DIY or UV customization (as shown below).

4. Keyboard Colors
· Before this series, Neson Design explored several products with a Clean Tech style, but due to production and manufacturing constraints, we weren’t able to share them with the community at the time. With the NoryTek Collection, we’ve returned to this design language, incorporating the PC material we haven’t used for a long time, and we hope everyone will enjoy it.
· The use of PC material comes with some differences compared to other color configurations: for example, the large weight is now fully stainless steel, and the top and bottom strips are made of transparent PC material. We’ve also named this version the NoryTek 70 PC, or P2K.
