Following our
Olly Jetfire & Black Bird project , we’ve continued our research work to fill in the gap for easily programmable Duck compatible PCBs. This time Orion and Octagon are up for a GB. A few notes:
- Orion PCB will have USB-C. The USB cutout on the Orion V2 and V3 is quite narrow and doesn’t support USB-C naturally, but we made the USB-C connector on our design slightly recessed (similar to what we did with the Olly Jetfire PCB) and it works perfectly with any standard USB-C cable. USB-C connector on the V2 & V3 Orions is top-sided, and it’s bottom-sided on the V2.5. This will be reflected as options in the GB form.
- Octagon PCB will still have a Mini-USB connector, because there seems to be not enough space to accommodate USB-C.
- These PCBs will not work with Orion V1 (not tested), Unicorn x Legend (different LED indicators position), and Octagon V1 (tray mount). .
- We’ve had questions about a Duck TC-V3 compatible PCB as well, and can confirm it’s also in the works. It’s taken more time than we expected, and with our many other projects in the mix, we’ve decided to leave it for the next GB.
- We’re sticking to the Group Buy model for this project, because these are proprietary PCBs for discontinued designs. Doing GB allows us to produce to demand, with just enough extras for future support. We understand it may not be the ideal sales model in general, but it’s the most suitable for this type of project.

- Olly Octagon: Compatible with Octagon V2 and V3 75% Boards.
- NO PLATES available in this GB.
