Can science outpace our baser instincts, or is its unethical application the continuing cause of our woes? Will the world actually burn over the next century?
People think that something is wrong; that there will be massive consequences down the line unless we act the "right" way. Stephen Hawking [roughly] said: "By the year 2600, the world’s population . . . would make the Earth glow red-hot. This is untenable!" It shouldn't be too late for humanity, but if doomsday is at our doorstep be proud. Humanity achieved something ahead of schedule in these trying times.
