Zoom64 Update Jan 15, 2026: Price, Acrylic Case, Wooting 60HE V2 Compatible Plate

We're glad to update again after collecting IC since last week. We see a lot of quetions about price, interests on the acrylic cases and also compatibility for Wooting 60 HE V2.

Pricing
After calculating the costs over this period, we have finally worked out the pricing. Zoom64 Acrylic Case Kit starts from $79, and the Zoom64 Alu Barebone Kit starts from $115. Specific prices are as follows:

Zoom64 Acrylic Version
We can also see that Acrylic case is priced obviousely lower than aluminium case, we also see "Aurora Nebula" is the most welcomed choice from IC form. We showed a CNCed version in Japan in Septemeber 2025.

It's really beautiful, however the cost was even more than CNCed aluminum cases as a result of higher rejection rate. We cannot justify to offer a more expensive price than aluminum ones. On the other hand, we had been trying to find suppliers and worked with them to test the possibility to work out a beautiful acrylic mold, which allows us to produce thick, solid, translucent keyboard cases as good as CNCed ones in a cost-effective way. We approved the possibility at the end of 2024 but didn't decide to use it on which keyboard at that time. Until the begining of 2025, we started Zoom64 design, and decided to apply the modling method on it and officially started to design Zoom64 mold.

Important process of producing an injection molded case:
Mold Design → Mold Manufacturing → Injection Mold Cases → Post-Processing (Trim and remove excess glue → Sand down cut points → Thread Tapping → Installing Thread Insert to protect case → Spolish to smooth the surface → Sandblast to apply the texture we want → coloring).

Among all the process, the molds are the most difficult and time-consuming part. Since this is a technology on a new product, existing supplier don't have the experience for keyboard case. We needed to teach, guide, and test again and again. Compared with other products, the acrylic case is thin, more detailed. They can make a very beautiful acrylic cloth hanger, but faced deformation problems for keyboard case. After nearly a year of mold development and adjustments, the mold was finally completed and approved in late November, which gave us a great relief. So we started to prepare this for Zoom64 GB and placed order for the raw materials while testing samples for the post-processing stage. We assumed the most difficult part was passed and we should get completed samples before we need to send out to content creators in middle December. Unfortunatelly, we were too optimistic. We changed 6 suppliers from middle December till now. From our previouse samples, we found unexpected problems. Either the finish was not ideal, tread holes not looking good or size was wrong, thread inserts not fit, coloring not right... we took sample from one town in Dongguan in the morning, drove to another town immediately to another factory to speed up every step and meanwhile searching for backup suppliers.
Below shows how current sample look llike, and a failed pale-looking thread hole. This is our 5th trial. And until today, we are checking with the 6th supplier.

So can we start the acrylic Zoom64 group buy on February 3rd?
The answer is no. We are making process, and we hope we can receive a satisfying sample before CNY. We will only start the GB for it after we confirm the sample.

When will the acrylic group buy start? Will the price change?
Based on our current estimates, we expect to start limited group buy in late February or early March based on the material we purchase. The price will be the currently announced price, and we expect the delivery time to be in April. Please wait for further announcements from us. Thank you!

If I like the aluminium casing, should I buy it now?
Yes, we recommend purchasing it during this GB. We have already placed order for aluminum one and the colors and quantities are limited. CNC machining has already begun, and we expect to ship all Chinese group buy orders before the Chinese New Year. We should be able to get some of the colored cases before CNY and wait for asembly after CNY. So we estimate to deliver during March.

The term "Hunyuan" (混元)

Rooted in Taoist philosophy, meaning "Heaven and Earth undivided, all things as one." To better understand, we would love to use the English term "Hybrid Origin" to explain its design concept.

The starting point of design diversity and compatibility.

We hope it can be the hexagon warrior that perfectly integrates structure, craftsmanship, functionality, lighting, color, and acoustic excellence.

The Core of "diversity and compatibility" for keyboard case design

Zoom64, our third-generation functional structural Case

We roughly divide keyboard cases into three generations from our understanding:

First Generation: tray mount case. The function was simply to "carry," like a basic box.

Second Generation: structural case. The function evolved to "carry + provide a different typing feel, allowing everyone to customize their typing experience.

Third Generation: functional structural case. It's more than allowing you to customize your typing experience; it adds a knob to your GH60 PCB, too.

It is built with a hub inside to connect the current Flux60 HE (Babao 60 HE) module and the knob (controlled by VIA).

For 64-key PCBs

For 64-key PCBs, for example, the Flux60 HE (Babao 60 HE) module, the aluminum hall effect PCB module will be released from Wuque Studio soon.

Recessed Metal Knob with Knurling

We insisted on a recessed design to preserve the integrity of the 60% layout, as it should feel like a natural extension of your fingertips. The knob features precise knurling and a push-pin design for true quick release.

Seamless, Edge-Free Macro-Curved Surfaces

The bottom case features an integrated, wrapping curved surface. We've smoothed away all excess edges, making the entirebottom case feel like a water-tumbled pebble, offering a silky-smooth touch at every point of contact.

Invisible 360°Halo Light Bar

We've hidden a 360°ring light bar within the transitional form of the case.

When illuminated, the light emerges as an ambient glow "grown" from the case itself, gently outlining your desk space, not as an abrupt RGB strip.

Aurora Arc Side Profile

The concave side profile is inspired by the "Aurora Bend." 极光之弧（Aurora Bend）After countless prototypes, we found this balance point between the visual center of gravity and layered aesthetics, combining beauty with a sense of depth.

Low Front-Height Sloped Design

Ergonomically angled design to alleviate wrist pressure.

Functional Weight

A "Race Track" profile groove surface with wave texture enhances grip during desk movement.

Artistic Silicone Feet

Moving beyond traditional feet that just cover screw holes, these specially designed twin-ear shapes visually integrate with the macro-curves, as if gently leaning in to listen to every keystroke.

The Drift Gray finish is achieved through an exclusive "Spray-Anodization" hybrid process, meticulously replicating the authentic, matte texture and subtle warmth of linen fabric.

Fine powder, applied via spray electrophoresis, creates an even base that is then sealed and colored through anodization. This results in a uniquely serene gray tone, laced with fine particles of light.

220-mesh Anodizing

It provides the topmost industry-level silky touch feel on the aluminum case.

Composite Shock-Absorption Structure

Silicone gaskets and O-Rings are both optional, supporting "no-foam" tuning to effectively reduce hollow sound.

For full magnetic switch mods, using silicone gaskets is the best pairing; O-Rings are not recommended.

Note: we already see a lot of interest for the marbleano and carving ones, but we are facing a lot of difficuties on making the acrylic cases, the case is thick and we have been testing for the past half year on the structure, the structure design was finally approved last month but now we are challenged by the finish treatment on the acrylic cases, failed to get ideal finish after sampling 5 times till the day we release this IC. We couldn't manage to send them out to content creators. We need to see how much our community wants us to include this in GB, or shall we put it in a later release?

Note:

A test run means we produce them using our mass-production suppliers, machines, and materials. It's different from "sampling, which can be sent to special sampling manufacturers, who won't produce the mass production units. We ran a test-run for 2 purposes:

1. Test production before mass production, so that we can make sure mass production goes well.

2. Sent to content creators to share more reviews and collect suggestions too.
